DPWR.NET (D'niPedia / Writer's Ring) - current page

Created by Alahmnat as two separate sites. D'niPedia.org was established on July 30th, 2000 as a place to gather information from the Myst saga; the Writers Ring was created shortly afterwards as a place where members could share their stories and artwork. The two were merged into one site (date), but each retained their own areas and forums. Content and activity was eventually migrated to the Guild of Archivists and the DPWR.NET site became read-only on October 1, 2012. Riven Journals, The - archived page, June 30, 1997

Website created as a promotion for Riven. The Journals were a collection of books that introduced and provided commentary on elements found in the game. Each Journal also contained a puzzle that, when solved, revealed the subject of the Journal in a new light. The fifth and final Journal was added to the site on August 25th, 1996. A group of subscription e-mail lists for discussing Cyan games. Billed as "The Ultimate Fan Discussion List," "The Definitive site for Cyan Game Information," and "The perfect place to discuss M.R.E.D.U." The Lysts were originally started by Doug McBride as "The Riven Lyst", in July of 1996 and became quite popular, but ended in April, 2001. Lehsa, a long time Lyster, restarted the mail list on October 31, of 2001 and the group grew to about 1,000 subscribers by 2006 when it moved to Yahoo Groups to handle the increased membership.
