This page is being created specifically for use as a collection of resources for Tai'lahr's project, "History of the Called." It is intended to be a historical list of any and all Mysterium-related fan pages & websites ever created. Some websites may have no information other than where it was discovered. If more information can be found, including a link to a current or archived page, the original reference can be removed. [1] [2]

Current / Recent Information

Mysterium is a weekend long Myst fan convention held annually during the summer, usually late July or early August.

Mysterium current website

From the current website: "In 2000, a group of Myst fans decided to organize a meet-up in Spokane, Washington, home of Cyan Worlds, Inc. What was initially planned as an informal gathering ultimately ballooned into a weekend-long event attended by over 200 people, with t-shirts, a catered lunch, and a tour of Cyan Worlds headquarters. Since then, Mysterium has traveled the country, visiting almost a dozen cities, and returning to Spokane periodically with Cyan Worlds as a gracious co-host. Now in its second decade, Mysterium has become a community tradition, and a sort of annual reunion."

From 2009 website: "Mysterium was created in 2000, when long-time community member Scraper and several fellow friends / Myst fans decided to meet up in person. The decision was made to visit Spokane, and maybe sneak in a tour of Cyan while they were there. The event ended up ballooning into a 200+ person, weekend-long event that was so popular, the community – both those who could and couldn’t attend the inaugural year – virtually demanded a repeat performance. Since then, Mysterium has been held annually in cities across North America, and is now entering its 10th year. Below are links to information about various past Mysteriums (or Mysteria, depending on your Classical inclinations). This section will grow as the Historical Committee is able to shift into main gear; until then, there’s a wealth of info about Mysterium 2008 in the links above to whet your appetite for 2009." archived page, July 6, 2009

The well attended and superfun gathering just wrapped up today with the announcement that Mysterium 2012 will be next summer in Seattle, WA; and that Mysterium itself is will now be under the umbrella of the Falling Man Group not-for-profit organization. Snazzy stuff! **long story, not worth rehashing, all props to the Boston crowd for pulling this together.[3]
