The following draft license is based in part on the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-SA) license. The legal code is openly editable; however, the content thereof remains a draft, and in no way represents the final license Cyan Worlds will choose to license additional content from Uru Live. It is here to aid in the progression of OpenUru.org's discussions regarding this proposal.

NOTE: My thinking it that this corrected version of the CC BY-NC-SA license agreement (with Share Alike provisions removed) be used to license the following items:

1. PRP files - To be licensed under this standard content license
2. LOC files - Same as above.
3. P2F files - Same as above.
4. Texture files - Same as above.

In terms of the other items discussed for licensing, I believe that:

1. Cyan's raw file assets - After looking into the specifics of what Cyan did with the re-licensing of CWE, I believe a simple supplement license would be sufficient for this. Also, once my license draft is finished we may not need this at all. Hoikas needs to provide more specifics on this before we procede. He mentioned the raw max files and the raw GUI files, but there may be others I am unaware of.
2. Music files - Scrap the email from Tor'i idea. I had forgotten that most, if not all, MOUL files need to be redistributed on shards for content licensing to be of any real use. Therefore I believe, if Cyan is kosher with it, we should propose licensing music files under the standard CC BY-NC license. (Zandi's radio withstanding; we may just have to change this entirely on OS shards.
3. SFX files - Same as above; a CC BY-NC license should work well. However, if Cyan wants to keep more rights (than this license provides) for the purpose of use in any of their future creations, they may want to create a supplement license for this as well. I need to double check that this is applicable under a standard CC license, as it may not be. (I believe it is, as long as it does not revoke any standard CC license rights.)
Overall, and possibly surprising to some, licensing MOUL SFX will end up being the trickiest of our tasks. Cyan will no doubt want to keep more rights from this, mainly because there is always the possibility they might utilize them again in the future. (realMyst for iOS recently used the linking SFX for instance.) Music should be less of an issue for them, but they wouldn't just want their SFX fully loose on the internet; who could blame them? Especially when you think about the linking SFX; that is the staple of the series after all. It would almost be like Nintendo making Mario's "Waa-hoo!" public domain, or releasing it under a CC license. Due to the sensitivity of this particular issue, I think, Mac, that you might should e-mail Tony about this so we have a better idea where or how to proceed.

The individually named sound effect (SFX) files remain the protected copyrighted work of Cyan Worlds, Inc. under copyright and/or other applicable laws. Any use of this work other than as authorized under this license agreement or under copyright law is strictly prohibited.

1. License Grant

Subject to the terms defined under section 2 of this agreement, Cyan Worlds, Inc. grants you the following nonexclusive rights:
