This template allows you to insert a pre-formatted block declaring the associated article to be released under the GNU Free Documentation License. The template takes two arguments (both will need to be supplied to make the final rendering complete): The first is the Year of publication under this license, e.g. 2011, and the second is the Author's name. It is acceptable for the Author to be identified by a "handle", nickname or forum name or other pseudonym, so long as it a name which can reasonably be associated with the Author.

Typical usage is to insert the following into your document where you would like the block to appear: {{GFDL|2011|N.E. Body}} which will produce a block like this:

Copyright (C) 2011 N.E. Body.
