"Many have returned after the destruction, more than I first thought would have survived. Each and everyone puts the pieces together, and these are the ones that the grandmasters have noticed. The choosen." - Guildmaster Telanis on the Form register page of the Guildmaster Telanis website.

Let me tell you about some of the most important people in D'ni History.... There are a lot of important figures we need to remember... There was Pehpsi, whose spirit was a light no matter how dark the Cavern was... Moz'ie, JDrake, Dust'ei, Aquila, Rasmine. People we have lost. But have made our lives so much the richer. And there are those who are still here.... More than I can name or remember... And for every one of them, there are a dozen others that work hard, help each other and never receive an iota of thanks or recognition. But these people are our history, this is our mythos. If you are here, you are part of that history. Every word you say is part of it. Every conversation is another chapter. - J.D. Barnes in Ae'gura following the DRC's Exodus, 05 November 2007.

“There are a lot of people who put a lot of work and some of their life into this world.” - from an entry to URU Exploration – Nah’dneb’s Journal on Feb 4, 2008.

"sil_oh_wet’s Bevin" was a popular place in those days: used to summon Yeesha (and she actually appeared)[31], a gathering place to wait for news from Rils when he went on an expedition to Negilahn with Douglas Sharper[32], and of course for parties, including the weekly Karaoke. Karaoke nights were Sil's idea and she organized and hosted them for several months before sharing the duties with other D'niJs. When the cavern closed in February, 2004, the event continued in Second Life and continues to this day, both in SL and in the cavern.

Telanis (Rickard Johansson)
MYST fan since sixteen when he received the game bundled with a new SoundBlaster soundcard for his 286 Pentium computer, he participated in Cyan Chat from its inception and, with other chatroom fans, formed "the Circle" which would eventually evolve into an online MUD/MMO. Using The Book of Atrus, The Book of Ti'ana (especially Aitrus' map, D'ni to the surface) and information imparted through small puzzles on the Cyan website, he translated the D'ni lettering, language and numerical system and sent a package of notes to RAWA who confirmed his findings. This was prior to the release of RIVEN in which this was vital information for solving the puzzles, so RAWA promised to send him RIVEN, art books and other related material if he would refrain from sharing his discoveries publicly on the web. So, he would only share bits and pieces of his findings through private correspondence with members of the Circle and posted some basic information on his website along with the note, "I hope this interested you enough to begin your own explorations in the writing of D'ni." His website, Guildmaster Telanis was mainly IC and included his IC journal, IC stories by himself and others, and an Age. The site includes a register of Circle members in which he is listed as a Guild Master in the Guild of Linguists.[4] Guildmaster Telanis also had a journal on the RivenGuild site (archived page, December 3, 1998, but the images didn't save correctly) and maintained The Library there (archived page, December 2, 1998). His experiences with MYST games and interactions with Cyan influenced his decision to pursue a career in game development and as of this writing, he's a senior game designer at EA DICE (Digital Illusions CE).
